I did these illustrations for fun, usually while I was working on a piece of music or learning to play a new instrument bought on my travels.

THE DUO

This picture was done while listening to the improvisations I had recorded while doodling the pictures for the score cartoon. It was meant to be the next frame in the pictures but I noticed that I was going through all the same processes and thoughts that I did when I was playing the music.
The unfocused and seemingly unconnected drift of thoughts and ideas, images and textures that I enjoy when I am playing an instrument, were now happening as I doodled and listened.
It was this picture that set me off on this whole series of pictures on improvisation
